Here at Dinkie Dannies we have several finished products for you to choose from when selecting the type of cast to have of your child. The various options allow you to choose something to suit your budget, while providing you with a unique item, which will last a lifetime.

The most reasonably priced item is a plaster cast of your child. This item is made of very strong plaster, which has been mixed with glue to ensure it is going to stand the test of time. The glue makes the plaster weather proof and around three times heavier than normal plaster We offer two finishes in the plaster. The first is painted plaster which is created using paint mixed in-house. Our paint uses real metal powder and comes in a choice of bronze, brass, copper or aluminium.

Oak framed bronze-painted plaster cast.

In addition to the painted plaster cast we also offer polished plaster, which looks a little like marble and allows the fine detail of the fingerprints, etc., to show.

All the plaster casts should also be framed to preserve the cast from knocks and scrapes. All our framed items come with a name and age tag for your child, so you can remember when the cast was taken, and as your family grows distinguish one child’s cast from the other. All our frames are made in England to order, and are available in Oak, Pine, Beech and Mahogany. We can also special order coloured frames at a small additional charge.

Polished plaster cast

We also make cold cure metal casts as freestanding ornaments. The coldcure casts are made using resin and metal powders and are stronger than the plaster casts. They come in a range of metals, bronze, copper, brass and aluminum. Being freestanding you can pick them up and study the features of the finished item while wondering how your baby was ever that small. We can also frame these items if you prefer.

Freestanding cold cure aluminium casts

We also offer casts in 35% lead crystal. These casts are beautiful, the outside is frosted with every line and wrinkle showing. If you look up through the wrist or ankle you see all the lines in a silver finish. They look stunning when lit from underneath.

35% lead crystal casts

Finally we also offer solid bronze casts. These casts are the superior casts available, weighing around three times that of a cold cure cast. We make the cast and lost wax mould in house and send this to a foundry, which pours the liquid metal into the cast. The foundry then finishes and polishes the cast for us.
